Consulting

We provide in depth analysis of your business and strategies for improvement.

  • QC of the roasted coffee and raw materials.

  • Blend overviews we analyse the efficiency of the blend and individual components.

  • Efficiencies in purchasing, ordering and blending can reduce losses. We can look at your product range and tune them to give higher returns as well as less components.

  • Sourcing changes here can help create higher quality coffee with reduced costs.

  • Trainings having a staff that is skilled reduces wastage and R&D. However it is outside of the production area where training (sales and onsite teams) leads to better internal feedback, improved upselling and a company wide feedback source. This makes a multi-level QC check at all levels of the business meaning your company now has the confidence to say ‘you’re the best quality’.

  • Streamlining workflow and communications.

  • Roasted Coffee Quality Control review your roasted coffee and give feedback on how to improve or what green coffees to change.

  • Green Coffee Quality Control we will help you choose the correct coffee or help you with reports if you feel you have received a defective green coffee purchase.

  • Market Research looking at the local market, to evaluate trends and gaps in the market. Helping to do tasting panels of competitors products.

  • Product Matching if you have clients with a specific taste or blend request we can help you make that.

Consulting for the coffee Roaster

We will work with you to maximise the flavour in your coffees by using your equipment to its full potential. We will also do a full analysis of your products and help you stream line purchasing and product ranges. All this as well as an overall assessment with solutions to improve the workflow in the roastery.

Consulting for the coffee Importer

We will help with giving analysis of the type samples and help you make your choice about what coffees to purchase. After this we will support you with quality control and decision making all the way until the coffee is sent to clients.
* We have been working like this with many importers over the years and have had a lot of happy clients.

Ways we consult

Just like most things at Raf & Co we understand that one approach does not fit all. For this reason we offer custom consulting solutions however there are some structures we follow:

  • On-site Consulting For larger projects this is the best start. By understanding how your business functions, seeing the physical spaces and learning your equipment we can then really understand what areas need improving.

However tempting it can be we do not recommend long intensive on site consulting. On-site is much better suited to shorter more regular visits so that there is time to return and inspect progress and see how the changes are being implemented.

Naturally for certain parts of the consultations (learning the roasting machines, trainings… ) on-site can be the best approach.

  • Online Consulting new for the modern age get advice and support at a cheaper cost. This is very good for clients looking to develop ideas or who know their machinery well but are looking for some added help to improve their skills.

Online really works best when made regularly as weekly sessions that work towards long term goals.

    • Help designing the new roastery/cafe layout.

    • Packaging changes (design, materials or function).

    • Marketing strategies.

    • Small skills development.

    • Much more.

  • Hybrid Consulting this has proven to be the most efficent both in the clients development as well as in skills development (in team education or individuals).
